Online training “Floods: An introduction to basic concepts”

Online training “Floods: An introduction to basic concepts” prepared by the Center for Research and Innovation in Civil Security of Quebec (Centre RISC) and supported by the Réseau Inondations InterSectoriel du Québec (RIISQ).

The training provides an update on the terminology and concepts associated with flood risk management in Quebec, as well as recent regulatory updates. It is divided into three sections. The first section presents basic concepts in hydrology and civil security, in the context of flooding. The second section presents the main factors that contribute to flooding as well as the risk management approach to this hazard. Finally, the third presents an overview of recent updates to Quebec regulations.

The online training is offered free of charge on the RISC Center training platform.
