Be a student member of the RIISQ network enrolled in a graduate program at a Quebec university;
Present a paper or poster as the lead author at a scientific event (conference, congress, symposium) taking place in person in Quebec or elsewhere;
Have a paper proposal officially accepted by the event’s organizing committee;
Complete the attached form and include proof of acceptance to the scientific
event (a copy of the email confirming in-person participation) and the call for
papers or the program (if available);
Submit applications to recherche@riisq.ca by the deadline.
Funding is awarded through a competitive process in the following amounts:
$450 for an event held in Quebec province or Ottawa city
$900 for an event outside Quebec (in Canada or internationally, excluding Ottawa)

To be eligible, the following conditions must be met:
The involvement must not be directly related to the student’s thesis or dissertation, although it may involve knowledge transfer or the popularization of research outside the student’s scientific discipline;
The individual must be a student member of RIISQ and enrolled in a graduate program at a Quebec university;
The involvement must not be an activity for which the student is paid (salary) by RIISQ;
The completed form must be attached, and an up-to-date CV be sent to recherche@riisq.ca before the deadline.
Call for applications - Postdoctoral fellowship at RIISQ
The project, conducted in partnership between the RIISQ the Intact Foundation through the UQAM Citadins Club, aims to support evidence-based decision-making and align adaptation strategies with local realities. By facilitating dialogue between research and practice, the project also helps to highlight barriers to adopting adaptive behaviors and strengthen collective preparedness for hydroclimatic hazards, particularly flooding.
Under the supervision of Philippe Gachon, the intern will work with the RIISQ team and its members to achieve the internship objectives and tasks. The RIISQ is a network that values intersectoral research; candidates from all three sectors (Society and Culture, Nature and Technology, and Health) are encouraged to apply.
Internship opportunity - Hydrological and hydraulic modeling of nature-based solutions (NBS) scenarios for flood risk mitigation (remote or on-site)
Internship organized by Innov in collaboration with Dr. Anne-Marie Laroche, Université de Moncton, Moncton Campus (UMCM)
In the context of climate change and the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme floods, municipalities are seeking to implement more resilient, integrated, and sustainable adaptation strategies. Nature-based solutions (NBS) offer significant potential for reducing flood risks while promoting biodiversity and water quality.
This internship is part of an ongoing applied research project aimed at modeling the impact of SFN scenarios on the hydrology and hydraulics of a watershed in northwestern New Brunswick, under current and future climate conditions, in order to inform land-use planning at the municipal and watershed levels.
