Fourth General Assembly of the RIISQ (May 27, 2025)

The Quebec InterSectoral Flood Network (RIISQ) held its fourth general assembly on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., online (Zoom).

The goal of the RIISQ General Assembly was to ratify the new operating procedures (formerly “Statutes and By-Laws”). These changes, approved by the Board of Directors, concern the RIISQ’s governance structure. The assembly also included a presentation of the network’s 2024-2028 strategic and scientific orientations; the event aimed to mobilize researchers within the newly created projects and committees.

Third General Assembly of the RIISQ (October 7, 2024)

On October 7, 2024, the RIISQ organized a scientific symposium and the first general meeting since the network’s renewal by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ).

The general assembly aimed to ratify the establishment of the new governance structure of the RIISQ in order to promote the inclusion of a greater number of RIISQ members. Following a presentation of the RIISQ 1.0 achievements, a new version of the RIISQ statutes and regulations was unanimously adopted. The new structure of the RIISQ aims to make it possible to mobilize researchers within the new projects and newly created committees.

The symposium aimed to define the RIISQ scientific orientations, priorities and intersectoral research themes for the next 4 years, as well as promote networking and identify community needs and research to be developed within an inter-university network.

Second General Assembly of the RIISQ (May-June 2022)

We would like to thank all those who attended the General Assembly on May 31 and June 1 in Quebec City. The event brought together over 78 people. It was an opportunity to highlight the many achievements of the Network and to interact with stakeholders from different backgrounds on issues related to flooding. The success of this Assembly is due to our partners, speakers, volunteers, members and dedicated staff.

First General Assembly of the RIISQ

The InterSectoriel Flood Network of Quebec (RIISQ) wishes to thank its members for their participation and their commitment during the first general assembly of the history of the network which was a success.

More than one hundred participants took part, on November 28 and 29, in these two days of debates, conferences, discussions and workshops on flood risks management here in Quebec but also in the country and in North America.

Inaugurated by Catherine Mounier, Chair of the RIISQ Board of Directors and Vice-Rector of Research, Creation and Dissemination, this General Assembly also provided an update on the research priorities, the opportunity to review the content of certain axes of research, as well as a brainstorming and networking session.
