7th RIISQ Call for proposals

Risk cultures in Québec: history, knowledges, policies and intersectoral practices

This RIISQ call for project proposals aims to explore how individual and social representations of risks (including flooding and other water related risks) have an impact on the societal decisions motivating the ways in which disasters are managed. Proposals should consider intersectoral research projects that will try to answer these questions: how, specifically, have risk cultures developed in Québec? How are they defined and redefined through time? How do they transform the way we act? What are some concrete aspects of these risk cultures and how are they transformed by contemporary phenomena, such as climate change, economic crises, and political and geopolitical contexts?
